Routine Editing

Routine editing adds a little "polish" to manuscripts that have already passed most internal reviews. Your medical editor will

  • Organize the text per publication style
  • Ensure the grammar, punctuation, and spelling are correct
  • Check tables, figure legends, etc, against text for consistency
  • Ensure accuracy of cross-referencing
  • Check med/sci terminology for correct usage and consistency
  • Verify accuracy of reference citations
  • Ensure accurate placement of citations within text
  • Suggest additional headings or deletion of headings for clarity
  • Identify passages for revision to improve clarity, succinctness, and readability
  • Apply an appropriate editorial style (AMA, journal-specific, or publisher’s style)

Changes will be made using the Track Changes function in Word documents.
